A week to go!!!!!! The latest information letter is pasted below. Any last minute questions please call one of the team at the Academy.
See you all at 7.15am on Saturday 5th... Don't be late!!!!!!!
Dear Parents
Thank you to those of you who were able to attend the recent ski trip information evening. I trust that you found it useful. As promised at the meeting, I have included a copy of the insurance policy that is included in the cost of the trip – please contact me if you have any queries about this.
Having checked everyone’s passport details, I am confident that, as long as we all remember to bring them on the day, there should be no problems with this part of the trip. However, I must reiterate the importance of the need for everyone travelling in the party to bring their own European Health Insurance Card with them on the trip. The details of this can be found online at: www.ehic.org.uk Once completed, this lasts five years but needs to be submitted online as soon as possible if it hasn’t already been done.
The flights we are booked on have been confirmed as follows:
Depart: London Gatwick - Salzburg, Easyjet flight EZY 8559, 12:40, Saturday 5 February, 2011.
Return: Salzburg - London Gatwick, Easyjet flight EZY 8558, 11:00, Saturday 12 February, 2011 (arrives 12:00).
Our estimated time of return to the Academy on Saturday 12 February is 3.30pm although we will contact you en route if there is any significant change to this.
Please remember that the baggage allowance is one hold bag per person with a maximum weight of 20kg and one item of hand luggage with a maximum size of 25 x 45 x 56cm.
The hotel we will be staying in during the trip is the Musikantenwirt Hotel in Annaberg, Dachstein West. If you would like to view the hotel, please have a look at the website: http://www.htstotalski.com/destinations/austria/dachstein-west/musikantenwirt.
The ski resorts that we will be visiting during the stay will be in the Dachstein West ski region:
http://www.dachstein.at/en/winter/
A Continental breakfast and 3 course evening meal will be included as part of the trip, in addition to a hot lunch ‘on the slopes’ each day to maximize the time that we get to spend skiing / snowboarding. Taking a couple of snacks and some water to ski lessons each day is also recommended.
I would encourage students to bring money in Euros as changing money up in resort can be costly. The amount of money that a student brings is at the parents’ discretion but please do not bring excessive amounts. €150 will be more than enough spending money for the week.
I look forward to seeing you all at 7.15am on Saturday 5 February here at the Academy ready for a prompt departure.
Yours sincerely
Steven Church
Assistant Principal/Ski Trip Party Leader
